FranceTours, LLC has been offering small group class instruction in the Portland area since 1991. Classes are taught entirely in French by Sylvain Frémaux, a native speaker with a 25-year teaching experience. Groups are small and always limited to 5 students per class. Correct pronunciation and intonation are stressed throughout. Emphasis is placed on mastery of conversational skills, not grammatical expertise. You can count on your teacher to correct you. Learning is primarily based on authentic contemporary documents, such as press articles, short stories, films, comic strips (BD), newscasts, and songs. Textbooks are carefully selected and have been tested for their clarity, practicality, and user-friendliness. Sylvain teaches out of his home located on a quiet street in Lake Oswego with convenient, unlimited parking and within easy access, only 15 minutes from downtown Portland (take I-5 to exit 290, or Tri-met bus lines 96 or 37 to 36).
