Musique à Beaumont, a summer piano institute devoted to the piano repertoire for four-hands or two pianos, is situated in the heart of the Val de Loire. Just 90 minutes from Paris by direct train, the institute is housed at the historic Domaine de Beaumont, an 18th-century chateau near the town of Mer. The Institute regularly features an international faculty in master classes and workshops, providing the participants with an opportunity to study and perform this special piano repertoire in a warm and congenial environment. Whether you are an artist/teacher, student, or music lover, Musique à Beaumont will capture your interest with historic, pianistic, and pedagogical perspectives for both performers and auditors.

                                                  Domaine de Beaumont

Site of the Institute

All master classes and workshops take place on site at historic Domaine de Beaumont and the City of Mer’s Cercle Laïque. Accommodations are in the country cottages (Gîtes de charme) of Domaine de Beaumont. The grounds feature an outdoor pool, a tennis court, walking trails, and bike paths. Beaumont is situated just minutes from the town of Mer and its diverse commerce. Train access to Mer is only 90 minutes from Paris. In addition to the week’s musical activities, enjoy several historic site visits to some of France’s most treasured châteaux, churches, vineyards, villages, and scenic vistas. UNESCO added the Loire Valley to its prestigious list of World Heritage Sites, citing that “it is an exceptional cultural landscape of great beauty, comprised of historic cities and villages, great architectural monuments–the Châteaux–and lands that have been cultivated and shaped by centuries of interaction between local populations and their physical environment, in particular the Loire itself.”
